Picnic in the Park – gather family and friends and check out Chorley’s Astley Park for an afternoon of free fun, activities and entertainment at the town’s annual Picnic in the Park event!

- Meet Stick Man who will be making personal appearances in Astley’s Walled Garden at hourly intervals
- See the fantastic children’s entertainer Louby Lou perform her uniquely funny shows throughout the afternoon
- Challenge yourself to scale the dizzying heights of the climbing wall
- Join in the fun games, activities and Explorer challenge on the bowling greens, putting greens and surrounding lawns
- Get your face painted by one of the spectacular artists for a small charge
- Get all crafty with Lancashire Adult Learning at our arts and craft tables
- Join in the fun, games and challenges with Inspire Youth Zone and Active Nation
- Wander around the magnificent Astley Hall, discovering the history of the families that once lived there
- Take a ride on the traditional fairground rides for a small charge
- See the Zak Last exhibition in Astley Coach House Gallery
- Complement your picnics with delicious food and drink from Café Ambio and the courtyard barbecue
- Pick up some scrumptious food and drink from Chorley Markets Bees Country Kitchen and Scrumpy Pig. Finish your food off with a sweet treat from one of the ice cream vans or the candy floss and popcorn stall
- Enjoy an adventure on Astley Park’s play area and for a small charge, jump on the inflatables right next door
