William The Vintage Tractor was installed in Leyland in September 2016.
It joined the iconic Centurion Tank and ‘Norma’ the Second World War fire engine.
William is set on a mound at the roundabout joining Schleswig Way, Leyland Lane and Emnie Lane. The distinct two-tone blue vehicle is pulling a trailer filled with flowers. In addition, it carries a sign reading: ‘Made by Leyland’.
The tractor was named after farmer William Simpson who died in 2016. In fact, William’s family donated the trailer in his memory to be used as part of the feature.
William The Vintage Tractor is another celebration of the proud heritage of Leyland Motors.
