The South Ribble Museum & Exhibition Centre is a small local council managed museum in Leyland.
The museum contains a wide variety of information and exhibits. It is curated by Dr David Hunt the renowned local historian and the author of the ubiquitous book, ‘A History of Preston’. The museum is staffed by keen local volunteers. From time to time there are various workshops (family history, clock repair and history, local history talks and walks) and exhibitions of photos and art by the local community.
Unless otherwise stated the events run from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Everyone is welcome at the South Ribble Museum & Exhibition Centre but children must be accompanied by an adult.
Please note that the building is very old and quite small. Our 18th century staircase is quite steep and the main floors are all on different levels.
